Best Caribbean Island Family Vacations

A lot of people when they envision the Caribbean, picture it as a couple's destination, a place to go and get away for a romantic time away. These days though, the Caribbean is becoming more than that, it's fast becoming a getaway for the whole family.

There are more hotels than ever coming up with their own kid's clubs, some hotels are even designed specifically for them. Above that, more and more activities and tours are being designed with with the children in mind. Sailing activities are among the most popular.

This is really fantastic for families because Mom and Dad can still get exactly what they need; sun, fun and time together to regroup while the kids also get an incredible vacation that's filled with awesome activities and adventures with other kids from all around the world. If you ask me, what better way is there than that to educate your children about life in different parts of the world?

Here are some top resorts for the best Caribbean island family vacations. Each of these have fantastic children's center's and programs.

Bridgetown Barbados Could be Your Tropical Paradise

The land where summer never ends, Barbados boasts stunning white sand beaches on the Caribbean side and a rugged coastline on the Atlantic...huge boulders and crashing surf.

Bridgetown is the capitol of Barbados and really captures the English atmosphere, the heritage of the island. Afternoon tea is 'half after 4' and is a routine thing throughout the city.

Barbados is the most densely populated of the Caribbean islands and of the 260 000 Barbadians, most live within 3 areas; Bridgetown, Speightstown, Oistins. They are warm and very friendly people who are proud of their country and of their culture.

You won't find casinos, rain forests or volcanoes but you will find that Barbados has a lot more than just beach life to offer and it has more sightseeing opportunities that most of the Caribbean islands. It's actually ideal for people who would love to learn more about the West Indian Culture.

Your vacation in Bridgetown, Barbados can be made into a romantic getaway or it can be also be a great family vacation, as children are very much welcome here and there are many activities to suit both adults and children alike.

The south coast is known for its nightlife, while on the west coast, you'll find parts of the island that remain undeveloped and the east coast offers tranquility.

Barbados is an awesome island getaway that is suited for a variety of different types of traveler, with Bridgetown being a great place to start. Want to start planning your trip right away? Here's a great place to start, you'll love the accommodations!

Hidden On the Eastern Coast of Spain, Lies a Beautiful Treasure

That treasure is Alicante. It's a destination that I had not heard of until recently when a reader of ours asked us if we could give him some information about it. I'm sure glad that he did because it is truly a gem!

Alicante lies on the Eastern coast of Spain and is a destination that seems to have it all. Beaches with white sand and beautiful, clear turquoise water. It's filled with castles, is home to countless festivals, parties and discos and its inhabitants are so friendly that you may just not want to go back home!

With beaches that seem to stretch on forever, it is a city that is rich in both history and culture. Boasting every kind of shop and restaurant imaginable, your entertainment options are never ending. This is a city that screams the ultimate in beach life.

If you're the type that doesn't like to be immersed in a crowd of people or are looking for secluded little beaches, you should not travel to Alicante during summer high season. While this destination may be little known to North Americans, Europeans on the other hand, have been very happy to call this destination home during their holidays. It's a hot spot that is gaining more and more recognition.

Alicante thrives year round and for this reason, travel in the off or shoulder season would be the best time to go. You'll be able to save money on each aspect of your trip and you can fully immerse yourself in this beautiful beach culture known to Spain.

To kick off that vacation time, you'll want to start with a stroll along the city's main pedestrian walkway, the Explanada de España along the beach front. Lined with palm trees, shops and cafes, this boulevard stretches around the harbor and lies in front of the main part of the city. With the addition of the new tram network, getting around has just gotten easier. Head on over to Postiguet beach, where you can jump on the tram and head on over to San Juan Beach which is over 6 kilometres long. Take a stroll and enjoy the fabulous sunsets!

Here's another great way to spend a day...sailing on the Mediterranean Sea on a luxurious catamaran. Sailing, swimming, snorkeling, I can't think of a better way to spend a day!

Major Phuket, Thailand Hotels and Information That You Can Use

Phuket, Thailand's largest island is an extremely popular travel destination among those that like to add a lot of adventure to their lives and explore truly exotic destinations. The high season is from December to May but I would recommend taking advantage of it's low and shoulder seasons. May to October is considered to be the 'cool' season. Since their cool season is similar to Florida's summer weather, reaching temperatures of about 25-35 C, I would say that is just about perfect!

You can take advantage of not only the weather but of great deals because of traveling during this time. While you will probably be witness to short periods of thunderstorms and rain that generally happen in the evenings, your days will be filled with sunshine and fantastic temps to actually enjoy that time in the sun!

English is widely spoken in Phuket because it is so popular for tourists, all the same though, it's always nice for a local to hear you try to speak a little Thai, even if it's only to say thank you, which is, Khorb Koon!

We have an awesome selection of major Phuket, Thailand hotels that you definitely want to check out! Starting at just $48 a night, you can be living a life of luxury right on the beach. The next coming months are great times to take advantage of the shoulder season. Just monitor the weather, make sure you're not planning a time when a Monsoon may be arising. You can always check out travel advisories for both weather and also any terrorist threats which unfortunately, is now an issue for many areas of our world, including Thailand.

My personal stance is always to be aware of the current and potential future of a destination but I myself refuse to stop travel and experiencing the world because of terrorist threats. I believe in a sense that is letting them win. Always be aware and exercise caution and you yourself can decide if a destination is safe for you at your desired time of travel.

Edmonton Summer Events and What's Coming Up!

Edmonton certainly doesn't have a shortage for things to do or upcoming events, especially at this time of year! We've got just about everything and anything that you can imagine going on, so much, that we just can't possibly make it to all the Edmonton summer events but we can sure try! ;)

Just this month alone, we have the Edmonton International Street Performer's festival, the FIFA U-20 World Cup, A Taste of Edmonton, Capitol Ex, the Grand Prix of Edmonton and this is just a listing of the 'major' festivals of events...we've also got the Edmonton Eskimos for some CFL action or how about a Pirate and Wench Night onboard Edmonton's famous Queen Mary Riverboat tours?!

There's so much more and even more going on next month! So whether you live in Edmonton and you're thinking that you can't get away for a vacay, that's ok because you don't actually need to go away to have a blast here! And if you're here for a visit, you're just going to fall in love with everything going on, it's infectious if you let it be!

I'm going to give you guys a website that I found for all of the Edmonton events because I was getting frustrated having to go from site to site looking for what I needed, so this site has every event imaginable listed and has direct links for each Edmonton summer event. This is very useful, especially when you're looking for just one specific thing! The page itself is extremely long but what else could you expect from a city that just has so much to offer going on??

Go check it out because when I went through it, I saw all these things that we'd like to do that I didn't even know were there! In fact, I'm going to run now because there are tickets that I need to go and book!

Also, if you're a first time visitor, then make sure to check out Eddie the Bus and here's your West Edmonton Mall Cosmo Super Pass!

Vancouver Scenic Attractions For Dirt Cheap!

Vancouver is absolutely a bustling cosmopolitan city and is the 2nd busiest port on the pacific coast. It is one of the most expensive places in Canada, yet it is just stunning. Similar to Seattle in the fact that it without a doubt permeates that West Coast vibe but it too has the ocean and not too far away, the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

There's a never-ending list of Vancouver scenic attractions, the architecture that the city itself has to offer is incredible. That's not to mention the boat tours, whale watching, lounging on spectacular beaches, hiking and eating in world-renowned restaurants.

Vancouver is an amazing city with a lot to offer it's visitor's. How do you do it for dirt cheap?

With a Vancouver Attractions Passport that's how!

It's handy, it saves you a boatload of cash AND it's valid for a year. It's on sale now, so for about $11 bucks, you'll be shopping, eating and seeing the best Vancouver scenic attractions for a ton less than what you normally would!

For Your Great Summer Trip This Year, Go With Seattle Land and Water Tours

Seattle is a cool city to visit! It just has SO much to offer. I mean it's a big and metropolitan city, that's a given but there's so much more. It has that West Coast vibe to it, you know...that laid back, good and friendly one; with it comes the art, music and cultural scene, fabulous restaurants, fantastic entertainment but it's so lucky because it has even more than that.

It's a coastal city too. There's boats and ferries, beautiful waterfronts and great people. To boot, it's has islands to visit on one side and on the other side, it's got the mountains! Seriously, this is a rockin' city to visit! In fact, that's just what Jason and I are doing. We're going and we're going to take advantage of all kinds of Seattle land and water tours.

The first thing we're getting is the Go Seattle Card, it's an all-inclusive visitor's pass that's getting us free entry to over 30 different attractions and tours. We're going to go on a harbour cruise and on one in Kirkland. We'll see the Space Needle, go to Six Flags Wild Waves, visit some museums and just go exploring! The pass is pretty cool because we're paying just one price for it and then we don't have to worry about what we're going to do because we've got everything right there, which is awesome and it comes with a guide book, so we're set!

Another thing that we're going to check out is Mount Rainier. It's peak is more than 14 000 feet tall and on clear days, you can see Mt. Rainier right from downtown! It's going to be an awesome time, Seattle makes a perfect summer trip, we get a little bit of everything!

Picture this...your adventure begins in Orlando, Florida...

You're whisked away to Key Largo where you will check into your hotel that comes complete with a private beach, spectacular ocean views and a private swimming pool!

This is only the beginning...

You and your family are going to be swimming one on one with bottle nose dolphins in a natural ocean water lagoon for an afternoon that your kids will absolutely NEVER forget and for that matter, neither will you!

On your 2nd day, you're going to have an Everglades adventure that includes an air boat ride where the family's going to get a first-hand close up of the local alligators! This is a totally wild way to see the Everglades and not everyone gets to see it like you will.

This is an awesome family adventure! It's going to make even the pickiest of family member happy, well we hope anyways and Mom's...have no fear, because there is shopping involved! When you're headed back to Orlando, you'll be making a stop at Miami’s Bayside shopping area.
